Yes, it is the 21st night of September, but it is also the 10 year anniversary of my first full-length album, “Semi-revolutionary.”

For me, this release was a huge breakthrough into the world of DIY punk and beyond. When it was recorded, I was only 17 years old (thanks, @zachsnotpunk ). I really had no idea where my life was heading or how this collection of songs would impact me later on down the line. But what I did know, was that I wanted to keep writing and performing, and I wanted my music to free be accessible. Truly, it was the catalyst to my last ten years of songwriting and storytelling. While at times, I’ve winced at the naivety of these early tracks, they feel earnest today. And to those of you who have found significance in this record over the years, I am truly grateful for your support and good words.

That all being said, “Semi-revolutionary” will have a limited reissued on cassette tape, courtesy of @lavasocksrecords and @folkpunkarchivist 🖤. Just like the original run, there will be 100 tapes but with label specific variants. All profits made from the tapes will benefit the National Network of Abortion Funds.

This time around, I will not be able to sell them between passing periods to my high school buddies. Preorders are up on the Lavasocks Records site. Oh, and I almost forgot… this run will include four bonus tracks from the original recording session at The Dial Warehouse, back in 2012 (exclusive to the tapes).

On top of that, and for the very first time, Lavasocks will be pressing the record onto 12” vinyl. I can’t thank Alex enough for taking on this project. It started off as a crazy idea that actually worked out in the end. What if we pressed 2014’s follow up record, “Bedpunk,” onto the b-side? Well, that’s what happening- 18 tracks of angsty eagerness on a plastic disc, specifically remastered for vinyl. Over the years, many of you have asked for these records to be pressed and I never thought it would happen. But hey, look where we’re at now!

Records will ship sometime in early 2023. Each one will be a mystery color, and the jackets will feature a new cover design.

It feels surreal to say, but I’m going to start performing again in October. It’s been over 18 months since the last gig. @bellahangnail is kicking off a tour, so we’re playing outdoors (with masks required) at the Albany Bulb. For those who’ve never been there, it’s a former landfill turned recreational preserve full of sculptures and walking trails. I’m getting stoked for this one! ✨More show announcements to come..
